In reply to your letter, numbered 53732/36, of 26th March, 1936, I am commanded by the Army Council to state, for the information of Mr.Secretary Thomas, that they have no observations to offer on the proposed Ordinance No.1 of 1936 shortly entitled "The Defences (Firing Areas) Ordinance, 1936, a copy of which was enclosed with your letter under reference, and that they concur in the proposal to inform the Governor of Hong Kong that His Majesty will not be advised to exercise his power of disallowance in respect of the Ordinance.
I am to add that the Council would be grateful if they could be furnished with three copies of the Ordinance, if such are available.
